  • Are changing/showering facilities available?

    Full changing/showering facilities are available in Lagan Valley LeisurePlex.

  • Are the routes for 2012 the same as 2011?

    The routes for the Half Marathon has changed slightly. The route now goes down Market Place and up Chapel Hill instead of Governors Road.

    The 10K and Fun Run route are the same as 2010.

  • Are there any age restrictions for the races?

    18+ for the Half Marathon

    15+ for the 10K

    No age restrictions for the Fun Run. However, Lisburn City Council will not be responsible for persons under 11 years of age who are not accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • Are there any prizes?

    A commemorative medal will be presented to all competitors in the Half Marathon,10K and Fun Run.

    Equal prize monies are awarded to male and female competitors in all categories of the Half Marathon and 10K as follows:

  • Are there toilets on the race route?

    Toilet facilities are provided at the start/finish area.  There are no toilet facilities on the race routes.

  • Can I receive a refund if I do not compete?

    Unfortunately no refunds are available.

  • Can I walk the Half Marathon?

    No. You can only register to walk the Fun Run.

  • How will I receive the commemorative medal?

    All event finishers will receive a medal at the end on provision of an official race number.

  • What date is the race?

    Wednesday 19th June 2013

  • What happens if I break the course record

    An additional £200 will be awarded to the male and female athlete breaking the Half Marathon course record (first home):

    Male 64:10

    Female 74:59

  • Where do I send official charity money?

    Send to Mayor’s Charity, c/o Island Civic Centre, The Island, Lisburn  BT27 4RL


  • Where do I wear my Champion Chip timing mechanism?

    The timing device needs to be attached to your running shoe and must be worn during the race. Runners failing to finish with their timing device attached will not be recorded or appear on the results listing and, therefore, will not be eligible for any prizes.

  • Where do I wear my race number?

    Your race number must be pinned to the front of your running vest and is non-transferable.

    NB: No number - no commemorative medal.

  • Where do the races start/finish?

    All three races start at the rear entrance of Lagan Valley LeisurePlex in Warren Park.  The Half Marathon and Fun Run start lines are level with the entrance to Salto Gymnastics Centre. The 10K start is 100m further back down Warren Park, towards the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex overflow car park.

    The finish area is through the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex overflow car park to the main car park.

  • Will my race time be recorded?

    For the Half Marathon times and places will be recorded for all finishers up to 9.30 pm.

    For the 10K times and places will be recorded for all finishers up to 8.45 pm.

    The Fun Run is a fun event and no times or places will be recorded.
